Katie Laymon is the Office Administrator for the Wilmington office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP.   In her time with the firm, she has served in a variety of roles.  She joined the firm as a receptionist in 2004 and moved into roles with increasing responsibilities including working as a legal secretary and paralegal, before taking over the Wilmington Office Administrator role in 2014.

Katie manages the Wilmington staff and is responsible for daily operations including, but not limited to, human resources, facilities management, and finance.  She is serving as a team member responsible for testing and rolling out the firm’s new finance and time entry software.  She is co-leading the training for the Wilmington office and assisted with the design of the software training manual.

Katie plays an integral part of the marketing efforts of the firm’s Wilmington office as she establishes and maintains relationships with key community partners.  She plans client seminars and other office functions, coordinates charitable donations and sponsorship opportunities.

Katie is also a member of our Conflicts Compliance Department and assists the Company Compliance Manager in creating a consistent approach to screening new parties to ensure conflict compliance on all matters, including counter-claims, third-party claims, and cross-claims.  She assists in managing all conflict matters across all three of the firm’s locations and creating the daily conflict bulletin.

Katie is a member of the local and national Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) and the national and local Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Katie enjoys reading, being outside, and spending time with her husband and their four girls.
