Erin F. Taylor is a partner in the firm’s Charlotte office.  She joined Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog  in 1999 after graduating from Campbell University School of Law.  Since then, 100% of her practice has consisted of defending workers’ compensation matters for employers and carriers.  Erin has achieved favorable results at all levels of workers’ compensation litigation, including at mediations and hearings before Deputy Commissioners and the Full Commission.  Erin has also taken cases to the N.C. Court of Appeals and has argued before the N.C. Supreme Court.

Erin has extensive knowledge of workers’ compensation in various industries, such as manufacturing, utilities, trucking, retail, food service, construction and healthcare.  She has experience handling claims that involve traumatic injuries by accident, repetitive stress disorders, chemical exposure, psychological trauma and occupational diseases.  Approximately 40% of Erin’s practice is devoted to defending asbestos-related claims, including asbestosis, mesothelioma,  and other cancers.

Erin is skilled at balancing aggressive litigation with dispute resolution.  She enjoys all aspects of workers’ compensation defense work and strives to exceed her clients’ expectations and accomplish their goals. She has obtained favorable results for defendants at mediations and in litigation before the Industrial Commission.

Erin lives in Charlotte with her husband, Nate.  They have a daughter, Vivian and son, Landis. Before expanding their family, she and Nate traveled extensively, and have visited countries on 5 continents.

  • Erin frequently participates in seminars before workers’ compensation carriers and employers on multiple topics, including return to work issues, Medicare, communications with medical providers, case law updates and requirements under the N.C. Workers’ Compensation Act.
