James C. King is an associate in the Raleigh office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP. James joined the firm in 2018 after working at a civil litigation firm in Greensboro. As a member of the medical malpractice group, James’ practice focuses on the representation of health care providers in medical malpractice claims and professional licensing board investigations.
Prior to joining CSH Law, James worked on a variety of matters including complex business litigation and employment disputes. His experience includes advising clients on potential legal exposure, representing clients in state court, and negotiating settlements.
James graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law with honors in 2017. While in law school, he was a competing member of the National Moot Court Team. As a moot court competitor, James won awards for both his brief writing and oral advocacy. During his third year of law school, James was selected to be a student-instructor for an enrichment class on oral arguments. In addition to logging over 50 hours of pro bono legal services, James was a certified student practitioner in the Consumer Financial Transactions Clinic. Prior to law school, James graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2013 with a BA in political science and a minor in environmental sciences.
