WORKERS’ COMPENSATION PARALEGAL (Raleigh Office)

We are currently seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Paralegal in our Raleigh, NC office.  Qualified candidates should also have excellent English, grammar and computer skills, excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage a variety of assignments.

  • Regular attendance 5 days per week – consistently on time
  • Accuracy of work product
  • Ability to complete tasks assigned in a timely fashion
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce rush projects as assigned

Education Requirements:

4 year degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited paralegal program.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Word/Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of NetDocs (Docs management program) helpful
  • Knowledge of billing software helpful
  • Managing/meeting deadlines
  • Flexible/detail orientated

Qualified Applicants Will Have Experience With The Following:

  • Preparing conflict worksheets upon receipt of new case
  • Initial file organization including docketing of initial case & client deadlines
  • Drafting IC Forms, including Form 24 Application to Terminate Benefits
  • Preparing Medical Chronologies
  • Preparing Plaintiff Personnel File Chronologies
  • Preparing Case Status Reports
  • Indexing of pleadings, discovery and other file materials (including medical records if not preparing chronology)
  • Preparing Designation of Mediator form
  • Drafting Motions, requests for extensions of time to respond to Motions, Response to Motions
  • Preparing deposition notices
  • Performing online research including checking criminal record, driving record history and civil suit history
  • Drafting discovery requests
  • Drafting discovery responses
  • Preparing documents for production pursuant to discovery or Rule 607 request
  • Client contact to obtain responses to discovery
  • Drafting clincher agreements
  • Calendaring/docketing hearings, Pre-Trial agreements, discovery and other deadlines
  • Interviewing clients and witnesses
  • Summarizing depositions
  • Summarizing discovery responses from opposing counsel
  • Preparing Releases, Affidavits
  • Drafting Pre-Trial Agreements
  • Preparing witness/exhibit lists, subpoenas and contact witnesses
  • Hearing preparation
  • Recording daily time entry into computer software
