Medical Malpractice & Professional Negligence
The medical malpractice group at Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP defends hospitals, physicians, nursing homes, home health care agencies and other health care providers in all torts from failure to diagnose to sexual assaults. Our group includes an anesthesiologist, a registered pharmacist and a former R.N.
Many of our attorneys have practiced exclusively in this law speciality for over 20 years. We defend university medical centers across North Carolina as well as small rural hospitals. The physician cases also run the spectrum, including neurosurgery, radiology, pathology, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology, neurology, pediatrics, orthopedics and general surgery. We have a labor and delivery nurse on staff to assist with obstetrical claims.
We have represented clients before all courts in North Carolina, both State and Federal, and before various governmental agencies. We also provide advice to hospitals and physicians concerning policies and procedures and administrative/office practices. We offer speakers on medico-legal topics to hospital personnel, risk managers and physician groups and insurance carriers.
Other Types of Professional Negligence:
In today's world, professional negligence goes far beyond the field of healthcare. Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog has extensive experience handling professional negligence involving construction and property related claims (involving architects, engineers, developers, contractors and commercial and residential real estate professionals), as well as claims against accountants and other lawyers.
