Patrick Mincey, Chair of the Criminal Defense Practice Group at Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP, will be a featured speaker at the North Carolina American Society of Safety Engineers (NC ASSE) Chapter meeting on Feb. 18.

Patrick’s address, “Liability & Risk Management Issues with Active Shooters in the Workplace,” will examine significant aspects of a FBI study of active shooter incidents and will highlight the study’s importance from a civil liability perspective for potential litigation consideration.  The presentation will offer concrete risk mitigation efforts employers can implement to proactively mitigate risk in their workplaces, to have employees prepared to respond if an event were to occur, and to minimize liability in subsequent litigation.

The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. and will be held at the North Carolina Department of Transportation Division of Highways at 4809 Beryl Road in Raleigh.  For information or to register, visit http://nc-asse.org/events/?ee=52.
