Salena has over 24 years of experience in a law firm setting and obtained her Paralegal Certification from the NC State Bar. She started her legal career in Wilmington, NC in a legal assistant/paralegal role supporting multiple lawyers including the firm’s partners. She assisted in a variety of supportive roles but most importantly was trial preparation which required strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
In 2003, Salena relocated to Raleigh, NC and joined Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog bringing her knowledge and experience to this team. In 2005, she was promoted to the Company Compliance Manager and invokes a consistent approach to screening new parties to ensure conflict compliance, all counter-claims, third-party claims, and cross-claims. She has developed procedures to implement risk management which includes managing all conflict matters across all three of the firm’s locations. Additionally, she is responsible for preparing and maintaining the compliance procedure manual, performing QA (quality assurance) on the database, screening new employees for potential case management conflicts, creating the daily conflict bulletin and system training regarding new business intake. She has become an essential part of our risk management procedure.
Prior to moving to North Carolina, Salena and her husband had their own business in New Jersey.
