Jamie Black is a partner in the Raleigh office of Cranfill Sumner, where he has practiced risk management and defense litigation since 1999.  Jamie has extensive experience in Workers’ Compensation law, having handled more than 1,500 cases in North Carolina throughout his career.  He enjoys working closely with clients to set goals and works diligently to achieve them by adhering to the client’s specific guidelines and aiming for quick resolutions of claims.

Jamie has handled a wide variety of matters including death claims, occupational disease claims, general contractor/subcontractor disputes, and the more common orthopaedic injury claims.  His clients range in all sizes from small family-owned businesses to multinational corporations.

He maintains an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell, the peer review rating that recognizes attorneys who have reached high levels of skill and integrity.  He has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers® for Workers’ Compensation Defense for 2018 through 2023. He has been a speaker on various Workers’ Compensation topics.  In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
