Matthew Gambale is an attorney in the Wilmington office. A native of Virginia, he moved to North Carolina immediately after graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2011. His practice is focused on civil litigation defense, particularly defending professionals against malpractice claims. Matthew also has a breadth of experience advising national and multinational insurance companies and representing them in litigation regarding insurance coverage and allocation issues. He has litigated matters in both state and federal courts, and handled appeals to the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of North Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Before joining Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog, Matthew was an attorney at a law firm in Raleigh.
In his spare time, he enjoys running. Matthew was a varsity distance runner at the University of Virginia from 2003 to 2007 and competed in both ACC and IC4A Championship finals.
