Michael C. Connell (Mike) joined the Risk Management & Workers’ Compensation Practice in January 2004. He has since been involved with hundreds of cases before the North Carolina Industrial Commission for a wide range of clients from major insurance carriers to self-insureds.
Upon finishing law school in 1985, Mike curiously decided that it would only make sense to pursue a career in music with a band that he and his younger brother had started while Mike was in law school. The band ultimately recorded and released 7 albums and toured across 45 states and 14 countries, including Canada and much of Western and Central Europe.
After roughly 17 years of touring and recording, Mike and his bandmates came to their collective senses, came off the road, and took “grown-up” jobs. It was at this time that Mike had the great fortune to be offered a position at Cranfill Sumner LLP. Fortunately for Mike’s clients, his skills as an attorney outshine his “skills” as a musician.
