Peyton L. Derrow practices in the Wilmington office of Cranfill Sumner, where he handles a broad array of civil litigation matters. He has represented individuals and businesses in disputes involving breach of contract, fraud, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and personal injury in state and federal court. Peyton grew up in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and is passionate about advocating on behalf of the people and businesses in the North Carolina community.
Peyton is a dual-degree graduate of Campbell University and graduated with honors from the School of Law and a 4.0 GPA in the Master of Business Administration program. During law school, Peyton interned at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Peyton also participated in international moot court competitions including the 27th Annual Willem C. Vis. and 18th Annual Vis East, earning multiple individual and team recognitions and awards for his oral and written advocacy. In 2019, he participated in a residential program in Ghana, Africa, where he studied International Human Rights Law and Comparative Law and completed an interactive study of history, race relations, and human rights throughout the region.
Prior to law school, Peyton worked in a management position with a small business in New Bern, North Carolina. Peyton attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management and Leadership. In his spare time, he enjoys running, biking, traveling, and anything outdoors.
