New name reflects firm’s ongoing evolution

Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP today announced that the firm will adopt the new name of Cranfill Sumner LLP. The name reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to evolve and change in the modern legal landscape while still paying homage to its nearly 30-year history in North Carolina.

“We are looking ahead to a new chapter for the firm. Our firm has changed a great deal in the nearly three decades that we’ve been serving North Carolina and has evolved into a statewide firm that is dedicated to our core values of reputation, teamwork and client service,” said Marshall Wall, Managing Partner of Cranfill Sumner LLP.

Cranfill Sumner LLP was founded in 1992 with one office of 21 attorneys and now has three offices in Charlotte, Raleigh and Wilmington. With more than 70 attorneys, it has 28 practice areas to serve clients across the state.

“We want to honor our firm’s strong history, but we also don’t want to lose sight of our vision for the future. As a firm, we are committed and attuned to the ongoing changes in the legal landscape and the shortening of our name is part of that strategy moving forward,” Wall said.
