On August 28, 2024, Vince Eisinger filed an amicus brief in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Vince represented law professors who specialize in religious liberty issues. His clients included Michael W. McConnell, former Tenth Circuit Judge and the Richard and Frances Mallery Professor at Stanford Law School; and Douglas Laycock, the Robert E. Scott Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Virginia School of Law and the Alice McKean Young Regents Chair Emeritus at the University of Texas School of Law. Vince’s clients filed in support of a religious nonprofit that rescinded a job offer from an applicant for failing to comply with the nonprofit’s religious beliefs. The professors argued that, as a matter of original intent, the First Amendment protects a religious institution’s right to decide such matters of faith, doctrine, and church government.
