Description of Webinar:
Maritime & Admiralty Claims: Legal Issues & North Carolina Distinctions
This webinar is designed to educate adjusters and re-educate experienced adjusters regarding tips, strategies, and pitfalls when investigating first or third-party issues. These issues include casualties involving boats, maritime workers, vessel operators, and passengers, incidents on and near the water, and damages to structures in and around the water (whether it is a collision, allision, fire, personal injury and property damage or other incident). We will discuss the consequences of the often-encountered issues of what becomes of the vessel(s) involved in the incident including wreck removal, marine salvage, and strategies to adjust and negotiate such claims. We will also cover distinctions between North Carolina and maritime/admiralty law such as contributory versus comparative negligence schemes and pro-rata liability versus apportionment of liability.
