Andy Avram, an attorney in the Charlotte office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP (Cranfill Sumner), was recently honored with the 2019 Leaders in the Law Award from North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.

According to North Carolina Lawyers Weekly, Leaders in the Law is a peer-nominated award that honors legal professionals licensed and practicing law in the state of North Carolina, who have gone above and beyond in their profession and their community. These honorees represent the most influential individuals within North Carolina’s legal community.

Avram is a Partner in Cranfill Sumner and currently serves as Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Practice Group. He has a wide range of experience in handling traumatic injury by accident claims, occupational disease, asbestosis, chemical exposure, psychological claims, and permanent total type issues such as attendant care and adaptive measures. 

He is a former collegiate tennis player who played for Wake Forest University and on the professional circuit and has been inducted into the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame. Today, he coaches the next generation of tennis players through volunteer work with the Tucker Leighton Avram Tennis (TLA) program.

He received his award at a banquet on Oct. 25.
