Ashley discussed how many construction professionals miss out on a powerful tool in their arsenal for securing payment – liens – while others, including realtors, property owners, and subcontractors, don’t understand the impact a lien can have on a project or sale. She explained the liens process, including how to effectively use one when payment is being withheld, what the deadlines and statutory requirements are for filing and perfecting liens, and how to dispute or bond off a lien asserted against a property or project.
