Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP (Cranfill Sumner) announced today that F. Marshall Wall has been named Managing Partner. Wall, a partner in the firm and current Chair of the Business Law and Cyber Liability and Privacy Practice Groups, will assume the role in January 2016.

Marshall Wall. “For more than 20 years, Dan Hartzog has guided our firm and served as a mentor to us all and to me in particular. Wall replaces Dan M. Hartzog who has served as Managing Partner since the firm’s founding in 1992. Hartzog will continue to practice at the firm.

Wall joined Cranfill Sumner in August 1999 and has 16 years of experience in various practice areas. He represents clients in a wide range of disputes encompassing business, commercial and intellectual property matters. His primary practice areas include Business Law, Cyber Liability and Privacy, Employment Law, Product Liability and Trucking & Commercial Transportation. He has been selected for membership in the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, participated in the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Emerging Leaders program, was recognized as one of Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite in the field of Litigation and maintains an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell, the peer review rating that recognizes attorneys who have reached the highest levels of skill and integrity.

An active member of his community, Wall is a member of the Board of Trustees the Hospice of Wake County Foundation and serves as an Elder at White Memorial Presbyterian Church. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1996) and Campbell Law School (1999).

Dan M. Hartzog is an experienced litigator with more than 40 years of experience and has tried more than one hundred jury trials and has handled several highly publicized cases in both Federal and State courts. He is a founding member of Cranfill Sumner.

Hartzog holds the rank of “Advocate” in the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and maintains an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell. He has been listed in the publication “The Best Lawyers in America®” every year since 2006 and recognized as one of Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite in the field of Litigation since 2008. In 2013, he was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor bestowed on one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province.
