Laura Dean and Virginia Wooten were honored today as North Carolina Lawyers Weekly Rising Stars. Laura and Virginia were honored along with the other recipients at a luncheon in Raleigh.

The Rising Stars program recognizes attorneys who graduated from law school less than 10 years ago and who have made a strong impact in the legal community. Nominees were chosen based on criteria including: career accomplishments, contributions to the profession, contributions to the development of the law, contributions to the bar and the state, and efforts to increase access to justice.

“We are proud of all that Laura and Virginia have already accomplished in their careers,” said Marshall Wall, Managing Partner of Cranfill Sumner. “The legal community is a better place because of their work, and we are fortunate to have them as part of the Cranfill Sumner team. Both of them exemplify our firm’s core values in everything that they do.”

Laura Dean, based in the firm’s Raleigh office, is a civil litigator who is focused on the defense of professionals, including lawyers and real estate agents. She practices in the Federal and State courts across North Carolina and is also admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
