In the course of his practice, he has obtained defense verdicts and dismissals in a variety of highly contested civil litigation cases, including employment discrimination claims, excessive force claims, wrongful arrest claims, and other alleged constitutional violations. Benton Toups is based in the Wilmington office of Cranfill Sumner, and he serves as Vice Chair of the firm’s Employment Law Practice Group. His practice concentrates on Labor and Employment Law as well as Commercial Litigation. He represents business clients and individuals in proceedings before state and federal courts as well as various government agencies. Toups also spends a significant amount of his time working with clients to incorporate best practices for avoiding litigation.
