Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP is proud to serve as a sponsor for the 3rd Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet for the John. S. Leary Association of Black Attorneys which will be held tonight beginning at 6 p.m.

The event, which will be held at Byron’s South End in Charlotte, will feature honorees T. Michael Todd and The Honorable Rickye McKoy-Mitchell.

Prior to the awards banquet, a free presentation entitled “Increasing Diversity and Eliminating Bias in Litigation Strategy” will be offered at 5:15 p.m.

The John S. Leary Association of Black Attorneys is named for John Sinclair Leary Sr., the first black lawyer to practice in Mecklenburg County, and is dedicated to facilitating the administration of justice and encouraging and increasing diversity in the legal profession.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Leary Scholarship Foundation which strives to inspire and support minority students enrolled in a North Carolina law school by funding summer internships.
