Cranfill Sumner LLP today announced that Douglas “D.C.” Conant has joined the firm’s Raleigh office as an associate attorney. He focuses his practice in Administrative, Regulatory, and Government Law.

He has represented clients before regulatory bodies and government agencies including the North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He advocated to the NCUC for large industrial customers through the state’s first-ever multi-year electricity rate case, multiple integrated resource planning iterations, and various rate-rider hearings. Additionally, he represented industrial clients before the FERC in matters concerning interstate transmission planning.

He previously clerked for the Honorable Jacob E. Reger of West Virginia’s 26th Judicial District and served as a town council member in Flatwoods, West Virginia.

He received his undergraduate and law degrees from West Virginia University.
