Katie Laymon is the Office Administrator for the Wilmington office of Cranfill Sumner LLP. In her time with the firm, she has served in a variety of roles. She joined the firm as a receptionist in 2004 and moved into roles with increasing responsibilities including working as a legal administrative assistant and paralegal, before taking over the Wilmington Office Administrator role in 2014.
Katie manages the Wilmington staff and is responsible for daily operations including, but not limited to, human resources, facilities management, finance, business development, event planning, charitable donations and public relations. She also serves on the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, GreenTeam and Wellness Committee.
Katie is also a member of our Conflicts Compliance Department and assists the Company Compliance Manager in creating a consistent approach to screening new parties to ensure conflict compliance on all matters, including counter-claims, third-party claims, and cross-claims. She assists in managing all conflict matters across all three of the firm’s locations and creating the daily conflict bulletin.
Katie earned her certification as a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional (CP) in 2018. She is a member of the national and local Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) and the national and local Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Katie enjoys reading, being outside, and spending time with her husband and their four girls.
