Cranfill Sumner LLP today announced that Alaina Burgess has joined the firm as a paralegal based in the firm’s Wilmington office. She will support attorney Jason R. Harris in the firm’s Admiralty and Maritime Law Practice Group.

Burgess has more than 26 years of experience as a paralegal in civil litigation. She has extensive trial experience and enjoys working closely with clients throughout the litigation progress.

She previously served as an instructor at the Certified Paralegal Program in the University of North Alabama where she taught courses such as “Introduction to the American Legal System and Paralegal Studies” and “Judgment, Legal Analysis, and Ethics.”  She organized and hosted the first annual General Law, Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar at the University of North Alabama.

She graduated summa cum laude from Faulkner University with an associate degree in Paralegal Studies.
