Ryan Bostic presented at the North Carolina Court Reporters Association (NCCRA) Spring Conference on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Ryan’s presentation, titled “What Attorneys Wish Court Reporters Knew,” explored the ethical and statutory framework governing notaries and official court reporters in North Carolina, including when each is considered an officer of the court and how court reporters should respond when attorneys seek opinions about their cases. The session also addressed key differences between state and federal rules on reading and signing depositions, as well as recent guidance from the North Carolina State Bar regarding the use of artificial intelligence in transcript preparation and deposition settings.
