Don Wagner is Of Counsel in Cranfill Sumner’s Charlotte office. With nearly 14 years of legal experience—much of it serving as a U.S. Army Judge Advocate—Don brings discipline, strategic insight, and a results-driven mindset to every matter he handles. He is known as a dedicated and formidable advocate, both in and out of the courtroom, who is committed to delivering strong outcomes for his clients.
Most recently, Don advised and defended large commercial trucking companies in Atlanta in cases involving bodily injury and property damage claims. His practice is informed by a broad and versatile background, including service as a trusted legal advisor at the highest levels of government. In the military, he gained significant criminal law experience, serving as both a prosecutor and defense attorney, which allows him to approach complex disputes with a well-rounded and tactical perspective.
Don prioritizes understanding each client’s objectives and values collaboration throughout the legal process. He believes effective advocacy is built not only on legal skill but also on strong relationships, clear communication, and a deep commitment to client success.
Outside work, Don is an avid fly-fisherman and enjoys spending time with his wife of 20-plus years and three teenage boys.
