Christine Colangelo, Katie Laymon, and Robin Terry Recognized for Contributions to Firm

Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP (Cranfill Sumner) has awarded the 2020 Cranfill Sumner Core Value Award to Christine Colangelo, Katie Laymon, and Robin Terry. Cranfill Sumner presents the award annually to one or more individuals in the firm who best exemplify the firm’s core values of client service, reputation, and teamwork.

Christine, Katie and Robin are the very embodiment of excellent client service, reputation, and teamwork,” said Marshall Wall, Managing Partner of Cranfill Sumner. “We are proud to recognize the contributions that each of these women has made to our firm and are thankful for their profound impact.”

Christine Colangelo is the Director of Finance at Cranfill Sumner and is based in the Raleigh office. She has overseen multiple conversions/implementations; most recently tackling Elite 3E and MatterSphere. Christine’s focus is on leveraging technology to enhance operational metrics and improve internal processes, while not losing sight of the firm’s core values, especially client service.

Katie Laymon is the Office Administrator for the Cranfill Sumner Wilmington office. She joined the firm as a receptionist in 2004 and has served in numerous roles including as a Legal Administrative Assistant and Paralegal. She earned her certification as a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional (CP) and is a member of the local and national Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) and the national and local Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).  Katie serves as the Programming Co-Chair for the local SHRM body, the Lower Cape Fear Human Resource Association (LCFHRA).

Robin Terry is a Partner based in the firm’s Raleigh office. She serves as Vice Chair of the Cranfill Sumner Workers’ Compensation Practice Group and is a member of the firm’s Management Committee. She was instrumental in organizing the Cranfill Sumner Women’s Initiative and has been recognized as a Triangle Business Journal Women in Business Award (2015), North Carolina’s Leaders in the Law (2018) and Best Lawyers Business Edition 2016 Women in the Law.
