Cranfill Sumner LLP today announced that Emily Martin has joined the firm as the Attorney Recruiting and Professional Development Director.
Martin brings more than 20 years of experience leading attorney recruiting and professional development initiatives across multi-office law firm environments. Most recently, she served as Legal Recruiting and Development Manager at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, where she led enterprise-wide talent acquisition and attorney development strategies across more than 30 offices.
In her new role, Martin will oversee the firm’s attorney recruiting and professional development efforts, guiding strategy across the full talent lifecycle — from law school outreach and lateral hiring to onboarding and ongoing professional growth.

Throughout her career, Martin has partnered closely with firm leadership on workforce planning, recruiting analytics and growth strategy. She has managed large-scale recruiting initiatives, including summer associate programs and lateral hiring efforts, while overseeing significant budget and resource allocations.
She is recognized for developing recruiting infrastructure that supports long-term firm growth, strengthening talent pipelines, and building high-performing teams across functions.

Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the College of Charleston.
