As Cranfill Sumner’s first Chief Executive Officer, April Bogard Pinder, Esq., is focused on advancing the firm’s long-term strategy through operational excellence, strategic execution, and client-focused innovation.

April joined the firm with more than 20 years of cross-sector leadership experience spanning law, banking, and digital transformation within Fortune 150 environments. She spent a decade as a senior executive at U.S. Bank, where she led enterprise strategy, operational modernization, and risk governance initiatives across highly regulated, cross-matrixed environments.

April has a proven track record of translating strategic vision into scalable systems, particularly during times of disruption, growth, and regulatory change. Her experience includes standing up new functions, building cross-functional alignment, and strengthening the operating infrastructure that enables both client service and culture to thrive.

Before entering financial services, April practiced law with a focus on consumer financial protection and served as a judicial clerk. This foundation gives her a unique, systems-informed perspective on the evolving demands of legal service delivery.

She holds a J.D. from Indiana University, an M.S. in Biology, and is a graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking in partnership with The Wharton School.

April thrives on mentoring rising leaders and driving impact through board service and civic engagement. A natural competitor, she recently conquered her first triathlon and embraces the challenge of endurance sports. When not pushing physical limits, she can be found on the beach.
