John Martin and a former Cranfill Sumner attorney won a directed verdict at trial for a Hospital in a case involving permanent brain damage to a child. The minor plaintiff suffered from hyperkalemia and alleged that the healthcare providers failed to provide appropriate and timely treatment resulting in the minor plaintiff arresting and suffering permanent brain injury. During trial, after the plaintiff was done presenting all of her evidence, John and his former colleague moved for a directed verdict and the trial judge allowed the motion.
