Our business disputes attorneys’ goal is to help you avoid litigation. If a lawsuit is unavoidable, however, the Business Disputes and Litigation Practice Group will aggressively defend your interests throughout the entire litigation process. We will:
- Develop and maintain a litigation budget that will allow you to better understand the costs and timelines associated with litigation at the outset of a matter
- Take proactive steps to control, preserve, and organize electronically stored information during the discovery process
- Relentlessly prepare for your day in court and aggressively defend your rights
We help business owners and executives resolve conflicts by:
- Helping them understand the risks associated with all aspects of their business, and how to protect against those risks and avoid dispute litigation
- Assessing negotiation, mediation, and other dispute resolution tactics prior to filing a lawsuit
- Negotiating disputes directly with other parties in the event of a conflict involving threatened legal action (alternative dispute resolution).
The group is led by chair Lee Poole, a business-minded trial attorney with more than 30 years of practice experience. Our team knows the people and processes that make up the state and federal court systems in North Carolina and will put that knowledge to work for you.
