Matthew Carter is a civil litigation attorney based in the Raleigh Office.
Prior to joining Cranfill Sumner, Matthew served as a law clerk for Judge Jefferson Griffin at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He also interned at the North Carolina Business Court and at the North Carolina Supreme Court while in law school. Through these opportunities, Matthew has gained experience at every level of our state’s court system.
Matthew graduated from Elon University School of Law, cum laude, in 2023. While in law school, Matthew served as an Advocacy Fellow, was an active member of the Moot Court Board, and worked as a student-attorney in Elon’s Small Business and Entrepreneurship Clinic. Before law school, Matthew graduated from North Carolina State University.
When not working, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs.
