Amy Pfeiffer and a former Cranfill Sumner attorney obtained a favorable Opinion and Award from the Industrial Commission in a claim wherein a claimant sustained a compensable shoulder injury, and attempted to claim benefits for his ongoing psychiatric condition as well. Although Plaintiff’s expert testified in his favor, Defendants successfully argued that Plaintiff had failed to prove a causal connection between his work injury and the psychiatric condition. Plaintiff’s claim for benefits for the psychiatric condition was denied. The Industrial Commission also found that Plaintiff was no longer disabled, as Plaintiff failed to present any evidence of ongoing disability. Plaintiff’s TTD benefits were terminated.
