DAN HARTZOG (Raleigh) and and a former Cranfill Sumner attorney obtained Summary Judgment in a case pending in federal court where the plaintiff claimed that the defendant municipality violated his constitutional rights by failing to provide adequate protection to him and the other residents of the municipality. The plaintiff claimed that as a result of the municipality’s failure to address one crime-ridden area in particular, the plaintiff sustained significant injuries after being assaulted by a group of men in the area. The case was pending in the Eastern District of North Carolina.
