David D. Ward and Christopher M. Hinnant won a hung jury, 8 to 3 for the defense for a cardiothoracic surgeon in a case involving an aortic aneurysm in a 20 year old patient. The plaintiff alleged the surgeon failed to timely operate on the aneurysm on Friday and instead waited until after the weekend on Monday.
