David Ward won a defense verdict for an Internist. The plaintiff alleged the physician failed to recognize the sign and symptoms of coronary artery disease and failed to make a timely referral to a cardiologist resulting in the patient’s death. The Internist had been plaintiff’s primary care provider for four years and during his last visit, diagnosed the patient with an upper respiratory infection. The patient died a few days later from a massive myocardial infarction.
