Ryan Schmidt joined the Human Resources Department of Cranfill Sumner in the Fall of 2018. Ryan began her career in Human Resources with Target Corporation, spending a decade working in stores focusing on training and compliance, staffing and scheduling, employee relations, and leadership development. She continued her professional career in HR roles in private healthcare settings with Universal Health Service, a Fortune 500 Company, and United Methodist Retirement Homes where she led full-cycle recruitment, new hire orientations, and managed HR compliance and employee records.
Ryan grew up in Forest, Virginia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science with a History Minor. In her free time she enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband on their perpetual search for the best local restaurants. Much of her spare time is spent tending to her home and tiny urban garden in downtown Raleigh.
