Catherine is a native of Alexandria, Virginia who received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Mary Baldwin College. She worked in private practice for many years before making the switch to local government. She was the first Child Protective Services paralegal in both Fairfax and Loudoun counties in Virginia and Wake County in North Carolina. Catherine and her family purchased a farm in Wake County after their move to North Carolina, which led to her interest in the land condemnation and eminent domain aspect of the law.

She can now be found improving the land organically, raising heritage breed livestock, giving tours and teaching classes on her farm. In a pre-farm life, she enjoyed hay-free hair, trying any new restaurant, playing at the beach, and wearing shoes that didn’t need to be hosed off.
