Winston West provides excellent service in Employment, Business, Intellectual Property, and Data Privacy matters. Winston is focused on providing insights to clients on the ever-shifting Artificial Intelligence regulatory and legal landscape while providing legal assistance to issues affecting clients now.

Winston has represented clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, professional licensing boards, and other federal and state agencies. He has successfully and confidentially resolved disputes before administrative agencies. Winston strives to strike a balance between resolution and litigation, as the circumstances of the matter dictate.

Winston developed his skills as a litigator in the state and federal trial courts of Virginia. He now brings that same tenacity to clients in North Carolina. On his first day of licensure in Virginia, Winston defeated a motion to strike the evidence, leading to an early dismissal of the action, advocated for a favorable set of jury instructions for his client, and gained a jury verdict equal to the statutory cap for such claims.

Winston has advocated on behalf of clients at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, Supreme Court of the United States, and the appellate courts of Virginia.

Having previously practiced at a boutique litigation firm in Virginia, Winston and his wife moved to Wilmington with their family. He earned his Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he participated in moot court and research concerning patents and trade secrets. He graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Winston worked in biomedical and pharmaceutical chemistry-focused labs while at Richmond. Winston’s interests include a healthy football rivalry with his wife, enjoying the wide array of Wilmington’s local restaurants, and running.
