Dakota Lipscombe is a civil litigation attorney focusing his practice on construction, community association, and real estate matters.  He is passionate about leveraging his experience to assist clients in navigating challenging legal issues.

In addition to his civil litigation work, Dakota has experience in preparing contracts, advising clients on leases and real property ownership challenges, and counseling local boards.  Dakota is also accomplished in analyzing changes in regulatory and case precedent and using his insights to guide clients through novel compliance situations.  With multiple construction industry professionals in his family, Dakota brings a unique perspective to directing a construction dispute toward a resolution.

Dakota earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law.  While in law school, he was a competing member of the Holderness Moot Court Corporate Team, an articles editor for the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology, and a summer intern at the North Carolina Business Court.  These experiences further enhanced Dakota’s abilities in handling complex litigation matters.  Before joining Cranfill Sumner, he also had the opportunity to practice transactional commercial real estate law in New Bern, North Carolina.

Dakota attended the University of Virginia for his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Public Policy.  In his free time, Dakota enjoys running, listening to audiobooks, and engaging in outdoor activities around Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach.
